Arklow railway station is a railway station in Arklow, County Wicklow, Ireland.HistoryThe Station opened on 16 November 1863.Opened by the Dublin and South Eastern Railway the station was part of the Great Southern and Western Railway then absorbed into the Great Southern Railway by the Railways (Great Southern) Preliminary Amalgamation Scheme of 12 November 1924.The station passed to Coras Iompair Éireann as a result of the Transport Act 1944 which took effect from 1 January 1945, then to Iarnród Éireann in 1986.As with other stations between Wicklow and Rosslare Europort, semaphore signalling and ETS operation ceased here in April 2008. A colour-light signal existed here in semaphore days, having been installed in 1977.DescriptionWaiting facilities include three covered shelters, one on platform 1 and two on platform 2. There is a waiting room next to the ticket office in the station building on platform 1. A pay and display carpark is in the former goods yard, with capacity for 150 vehicles and a covered bicycle parking area.The station is staffed full time.It has two platforms, one on the passing loop.

Clonsilla railway station is a railway station that serves Clonsilla, County Dublin, Ireland.DescriptionThe station underwent an upgrade in 2000 that saw the platforms lengthened and a new station building being constructed.In 2012 the station has been further upgraded with new footbridge and escalator, refurbished station building, new surface to platforms and 3rd platform. The 3rd platform is used for shuttle train services between Clonsilla and M3 Parkway.The level crossing here is still a gated crossing, operated from a wheel in the signal cabin.HistoryThe station opened on 1 September 1848 and was closed for goods traffic on 17 June 1963. The footbridge at Clonsilla was originally located at the former railway station in Listowel, County Kerry. Between here and is what is left of the old Lucan North station (also known as Coldblow) which closed on 8 October 1941. All that remains of the station is a small red brick building on the bank between the tracks and the canal. This building was a waiting room. The station was opposite this but has become a private residence and has been extended and renovated.The station is one of the original four Western Commuter stations which became part of the line on its inception in November 1981, the others being (opened January 1982), and.On 2 September 2010 the original Dunboyne branchline reopened as the M3 Parkway commuter branch line. The turn onto the line is just after Clonsilla station.

Built in the mid-19th century, the station has a traditional appearance. The booking office has a small waiting area and toilet facilities. There are two ticket-issuing machines and one part-time manned window for the purchase of tickets. The station is located in the centre of the town.When the station was opened there was no footbridge built. When CIÉ closed Midleton Station in Cork, the GS&WR iron footbridge was moved to Donabate.This footbridge was subsequently removed in 2011 and replaced by a new bridge with steps and lifts for increased accessability. In 2013, a new building was built on the platform containing ticket barriers.Donabte is served by 22000 Class and 29000 Class diesel railcars. However 201 Class locomotives + DeDietrich rolling stock pass through on Enterprise services as do 071 Class locomotives + Tara Mines Wagons with mineral ore trains from Boliden Tara Mines near Navan.The linespeed in Donabate is 90 mph, the highest on the Dublin - Belfast Mainline and the highset permittable speed of the DeDietrich coaches.Under Transport 21, there were plans to continue the DART from Malahide railway station, through Donabate railway station and up to Balbriggan railway station, but this was shelved due to the economic downturn in ireland.
