Suki Reiki - Healing For Dogs
All dogs, whether in rescue centres or in happy homes, can benefit from the healing aspects of Reiki. For healthy dogs, Reiki can help maintain energetic balance and promote health and well-being. For dogs suffering from illness or injury, either physical or emotional, Reiki is a powerful complement to both conventional and alternative healing methods. For dying animals, Reiki gives them gentle, loving support in this process.
Suki Reiki was set up with the intention of bringing this therapy to dogs all around the island of Ireland. It is planned to hold healing days at various towns around the country on a regular basis.

WHAT IS USUI/REIKI?
Reiki (Pronounced Ray-Key) is a safe and natural hands on Universal Energy Therapy. It was re-discovered by Dr Mikao Usui at the beginning of this century. Reiki is also known as the Usui Healing System. Through extensive travels, research and meditation Dr Usui developed a healing system based on ancient Sanskrit teachings. He spent the rest of his life teaching and practising it wherever he went. Usui - Reiki promotes and accelerates the bodies own healing abilities. Reiki means Universal life force energy. We are all alive because of this natural life force energy that flows through each one of us.
HOW DOES USUI - REIKI WORK?
(Physically) We are all born with natural life force energy within us. This natural life force flows into and within the physical body, through pathways called Chakras and Meridians. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the Aura. This natural life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When this natural flow of life force energy is disrupted, it causes disharmony in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body.
(Emotional/ Mental) The natural life force responds to thoughts and feelings. It becomes disrupted when we accept either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves. These negative thoughts and feelings attach themselves to the energy field (the Aura) and cause a disruption in the natural flow of life force energy. This can affect the way in which we think and feel about ourselves, and again diminishes the vital function of the organs and cells of the physical body.
HOW CAN USUI - REIKI HELP?
Usui - Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the natural energy field and charging them with the earth's frequency of positive energy. Usui - Reiki energy raises the natural vibrational level of our natural energy field in and around your physical body, where the negative thoughts and feelings have attached themselves. Thus causing the negative energy to break down and fall away. In doing so, Usui - Reiki clears, strengthens and heals the natural energy pathways, allowing the life force energy to flow in a healthy and natural way.
WHAT IS A TREATMENT LIKE?
You will lie down fully clothed to receive a Usui - Reiki treatment, although a Usui - Reiki treatment can also be given to someone sitting if necessary. The Qualified Practitioner / Teacher will gently place their hands on pre-determined parts of the body where they remain still. There is no need for clothing to be removed as treatment is given through clothing. The Universal Life Force earth energy will flow through the practitioner's hands bringing healing to wherever it is needed. Usui - Reiki is a holistic treatment, healing at all levels: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. There are often reports of a deep level of relaxation felt that is said to be equivalent to three or four hours normal sleep.
HOW LONG DOES A TREATMENT LAST?
Approximately 45 minutes. The first treatment time consists of Case History taken, followed by hands-on energy treatment, allowing time for after treatment discussion. Subsequent treatment, if necessary, consists of consultation to catch up on how you have progressed, and hands-on energy treatment.
WHAT IS USUI - REIKI USED FOR?
Usui - Reiki can be used to heal ourselves, others, animals and plants. There is nothing that Usui - Reiki cannot help or heal in some way. The Usui - Reiki energy produces feelings of profound peace and relaxation, not only relieving conditions such as stress, depression, anxiety and insomnia but also many more. Usui - Reiki helps reduce or eliminate pain and accelerates the healing of cuts, sprains, broken bones and sport's injuries. Many chronic complaints and serious illnesses have been alleviated, sometimes dramatically. While Usui - Reiki will not heal most congenital birth defects; it can bring about clear improvements in even seemingly hopeless conditions. For the person living with permanent disability, the Usui - Reiki energy may not be able to correct their condition, but helps make living with it as comfortable as possible. Where a limb or body part has been amputated, Usui - Reiki cannot replace it, but will help the person adjust to the loss and to new ways of functioning.
