Sli An Chroi

Sli An Chroi

New Church Street, Smithfield, Dublin ,
Through our website www.slianchroi.ie or www.pathwayoftheheart.ie, we share indigenous shamanic practitioner training, professional shamanic healing training, personal shamanic healing, a directory of certified shamanic healers in Ireland, (energy medicine and shamanic counselling) as well as a deep resource for the Irish tradition of Spiritual wisdom and mysticism through Nature, which is ancient and contemporary, pre-Celtic and Celtic. We also offer a personal journey from an introduction to this tradition to providing a centre for people of the heart in Smithfield, Dublin City. At home and abroad we celebrate the man's and woman's unique journeys in growth as well as the ever unfolding creative ways in which both may harmonise together. In Ireland, we curate international gatherings of shamanic practitioners and we travel internationally, bringing the native Irish shamanic ways. We also undertake fieldwork with indigenous peoples and we faciltate expeditions for student groups. Our current schedule will always be available on our website.

Focail Iontacha

Focail Iontacha

Focail Iontacha is the new Irish card game that's taking Ireland by storm. A fun, educational product that aims to help students and families improve their Irish vocabulary - including all levels/standards of Irish! Players aim to outwit their opponents by creating Irish words with the cards that they were dealt to achieve a score higher than their opponent. Each card is individually marked with a letter, and each letter has a corresponding value. The more common letters have a low score, and the less common letters have a higher score. The game is very adaptable, and flexible. You can play the game no matter what level of Irish you have - the game can fit a classroom environment and so you can play in pairs or in groups of three etc. You can also choose when the game will end, whether it is the first person to achieve 100 points or over, or who has the highest score after eight hands - the choice is yours! Focail Iontacha this year entered the new Junior Dragons' Den competition, where young entrepreneurs competed for a spot in front of The Dragons. With hundreds of entries, Focail Iontacha were delighted when they were accepted to take part in the Regional Finals, and after tough competition they reached the National Finals which were held in The Gibson Hotel, Dublin. And, after much excitement and anticipation, Focail Iontacha was listed in the Top 20, and were selected to face the Dragons in the Den. Our game is currently available to buy. All you have to do is email: focailiontacha@gmail.com to order and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

Dublin for English

Dublin for English

121 Booterstown Avenue, Blackrock ,
Dublin for English (D4E) was established in 2009 and was based in Marian College in Dublin 4. It was set up by Donal & Kathy Donovan, who have more than 20 years experience in dealing with students in the language school sector and Kevin Lawlor, who has been a secondary school teacher for the past 30 years and a Deputy Principal since 1999. In 2010 D4E opened a new centre in St. Michael’s College, Ailesbury Road, Dublin 4. The move to the new centre was necessary to accommodate a growing number of students and the expansion of the hugely successful “English & Rugby” course. This year also saw Kelvin Leahy, a former international rugby player and very experienced coach join the D4E team as head coach for the English & Rugby course. Summer 2011 will see D4E opening an additional centre based in St Benildus College, Upper Kilmacud Road, Stillorgan, Co Dublin. The opening of the second centre will allow for the expansion of the “General English” and “Four to One Intensive English” courses as well as the establishment of several new English & Sports courses such as “English & Soccer” and “English & Volleyball” (coached by the Irish men’s National Coach, Laurent Cauet). D4E is approved by the Advisory Council for English Language Schools (ACELS) and is recognised by the Department of Education and Science for the teaching of English as a foreign language. In addition to the Summer Courses provided by D4E, a sister company, Shandon Language Solutions (SLS) specialises in placing overseas students in Irish schools, primary and secondary, both for short stay immersion programmes or for the full academic year. SLS also offers a combination of general English classes and work experiences placements and in recent years organises immersion programmes in partner schools throughout Europe for Irish students looking to improve a foreign language.
