Mná Moycullen

Mná Moycullen

Moycullen, Moycullen ,
Mná Moycullen Situation at the gateway to Connemara, Moycullen is a thriving, small, rural village supported by what may be a new and emerging economic trend. Moycullen’s leading the way: Much of Moycullen’s success is driven by over 50 women entrepreneurs who set up and are successfully running businesses in the village. This includes well know shops, restaurants and hairdressers. As well as an abundance of successful sole traders who are furiously productive tucked away in their home office. Building Awareness and increasing business: We believe that there is a very real opportunity to launch a campaign to position Moycullen as a leading light in what we believe is a trend which will be replicated in numerous villages across the country. That is that women are a core component in driving the economic recovery of their own communities by setting up and managing successful businesses. Benefits: Highlighting Moycullen will not only encourage other women entrepreneurs to take their lead but will also enable the village to attract further investment and trade. While this is a group for women the spin off in extra trade and revenue gained by the women supporting each other and raising the profile of the village increases opportunities for the entire community. Building blocks to raising awareness and supporting further growth We believe that by promoting and offering support to the women entrepreneurs who underpin Moycullen’s economy we can further support their expansion and see additional women entrepreneurs launching new businesses. In particular, the objective will be to provide and support business networking opportunities for these women business owners, combined with increasing the profile of the village as a business hub and excellent place to do business. While many of the businesses have an online profile using websites and social media, others need support to help them become visible to a wider audience through the web. As a result we believe there is a need to develop a website that not only showcases Moycullen as an attractive place to visit and do business, but one which promotes the very strong women entrepreneurs and encourages others to learn from their initiative. Bringing all of the various businesses run by these female trail blazers into one website, will illustrate the dynamic nature of the village and attract business and inward investment. To coincide with the launch of the Mná Moycullen marketing campaign and supporting website our objectives is to use Moycullen’s, or more precisely Mná Moycullen to get national media coverage and drive awareness for the village. Future: Our vision for the future is to provide additional supports to help businesses starting up in the area. All of which will be underpinned by opportunities for the women to learn from each other. We believe Moycullen will be seen as the first to highlight this new emerging economic development and one which is likely to be seen in smaller villages across the country. Moycullen’s model of promoting and supporting women entrepreneurs will then be taken up as a template for other villages who wish to maximise the drive and energy of women entrepreneurs to support their own economic growth.
