With a history that spans back to the 1920’s, Wicklow Hockey Club reformed in 1996 and have a thriving junior section with over 190 members. Based out of Wicklow Town, the Club utilises the new astro turf surface at Nelson Park, East Glendalough School which has been key in attracting new players to the club this season. Catering for all skill levels, the club is constantly looking for new members and is open for anyone who wants to pick up a stick and get some exercise. Dan Kenny worked as a Sales Manager in a butchers in Hacketstown when the company was taken over by a larger food company, which led to Dan setting up a small rented butcher/shop/deli in Blessington. In 1984, he purchased the property on the main street where Supervalu now sits. In 1987, the building was extended and the Supervalu franchise was taken on board. Since then the property next door to Supervalu came avalailable and is now known as "Kenny's Bakery". This year, the local post office have also joined us in Kenny's Supervalu Blessington which makes us Blessington's one stop shop.
