The Bridge Tavern
The Bridge Tavern has been restored by Gerry Byrne during the last two years and returned to its rightful standing as the primary pub and restaurant in Co. Wicklow. The Bridge Tavern sits along the Vartry River and the arched Stone Bridge, in the heart of Wicklow town.
Dating back to 1702, The Bridge Tavern is steeped in history, not least by being the birthplace of Captain Robert Halpin, famous for laying the first cross Atlantic cable. A piece of this actual cable is on display in our Snug Bar.
The Bridge Tavern has always offered hospitality to guests, so nothing has changed! It opened its doors again fully restored to the highest standards in May 2012.
Gerry and his team invite everyone to “EAT.DRINK.STAY†and enjoy our best home cooked food and seafood in our tastefully designed lounge, sit overlooking the Vartry River or even relax in our Courtyard with a chilled glass of wine or a coffee and treat! Relax in our lounge by our wood burning stoves for a chat and a drink, or enjoy some live music at weekends.
We also offer very comfortable accommodation in our refurbished ensuite bedrooms.
Food served daily from 12:30pm - 9pm
The ideal venue to Eat, Drink or Stay in Wicklow!
