Skibbereen Animal Rescue. Just a short paragraph to tell you who we are and what we do. We are an animal sanctuary more than an animal rescue centre. Some of our dogs have been with us for 12 years and of the 106 dogs we have at the moment, about 75 of these are residents are unable to be rehomed due to breed, temperament or just bad habits. We also have 76 horses, donkeys and ponies, over 80 cats most of which are feral. We do manage to rehome many of the tame cats and kittens but most of the adult cats live on the farm. There are also 17 goats, 2 herons, both of which have 1 wing removed due to road traffic accidents, a jackdaw that swears and a seagull. As most of these animals and birds spend the rest of their lives with us. We find funding very difficult as we do not get the donations that other rescue centres receive when dogs, cats etc. are rehomed. Any donation no matter how small would be gratefully received.
