Education and Outreach: We offer a comprehensive education and outreach programme to secondary schools across the city and county. 2. Health and Sexual Health providing information, support and advice. 3. Social/Support Groups: we provide various social and support groups for all ages at The Other Place. In addition, we offer one-to-one confidential information and advice . 4. Youth services: twice weekly we run a youth group catering for young people 15 – 23 years old. 5. Community Development: we actively meet the needs of the LGBT community in Cork city and county liaising with a variety of agencies guided by community development principles. As part of the Cork Sports Partnership Network we have made it our mission to increase the number of people participating in sport, exercise and physical activity in Cork. In achieving this mission we will place particular focus on young people, teenage girls, women, people with disabilities, minority groups and older people.

We run projects in 28 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and the South Pacific too! Our flexible projects include Teaching, Care, Conservation & Environment, Sport, Journalism, Law & Human Rights, Medicine & Healthcare, Culture & Community and many more! Each project offers scope to incorporate your own skills and interests and make the most of the cultural exchange. Projects are very flexible in dates and duration- you choose where, when, what and for how long. Volunteers usually live with local host-families, which is a great way of getting to know a culture. The in-country Projects Abroad staff are around from the moment they pick you up at the airport until your (probably tearful) goodbye. They support volunteers, while still giving them independence to explore their destination.
