Projects Abroad Ireland

Projects Abroad Ireland

We run projects in 28 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and the South Pacific too! Our flexible projects include Teaching, Care, Conservation & Environment, Sport, Journalism, Law & Human Rights, Medicine & Healthcare, Culture & Community and many more! Each project offers scope to incorporate your own skills and interests and make the most of the cultural exchange. Projects are very flexible in dates and duration- you choose where, when, what and for how long. Volunteers usually live with local host-families, which is a great way of getting to know a culture. The in-country Projects Abroad staff are around from the moment they pick you up at the airport until your (probably tearful) goodbye. They support volunteers, while still giving them independence to explore their destination. Our staff are experienced volunteers, please get in touch if you would like to know more about any of our projects or destinations, we are always happy to chat about your options- we know it can be tough to choose just one (or two..!) www.projects-abroad.ie info@projects-abroad.ie

Energy Needs Ireland - ENI

Since 2007 the group has been engaging in many diverse activities, including the creation of educational materials aimed at the general public regarding Ireland’s energy usage, and writing an academic response to the Irish Government’s 2007 Energy White Paper. Further success and public acknowledgement was found when presenting at Science Week and the BT Young Scientist Exhibition. Now the 2013 ENI group consists of 21 undergraduate students from universities throughout Ireland who are spending the summer of 2013 working on the technical, business and social aspects of projects that are related to the “Smart Grid”. The group will take an unbiased approach to obtain the information needed to adequately plan Ireland’s energy future. Through market research, public events, tests, trials and expending existing resources they will work towards making a positive impact among industry and the consumer.

Ennis Festival of Light

Ennis Festival of Light

We are planning to gather together Ireland’s most prominent leaders, teachers and explorers in the fields of mindfulness, self development, self awareness and spirituality to harness their energy, awareness and light under the umbrella name of: "The Festival of Light" We plan to put Co Clare and in particular Ennis on the national and International map as being at the center of this particular field of study and over the next 5 years grow the festival into a gathering of excellence in the fields of mindfulness, self development and spirituality inviting leading teachers from all over the world. The Ennis Yoga Studio is now in its 6th year in business in Ennis and has fulfilled its purpose as being an anchor point in the center of the town offering yoga, meditation, kirtan classes to over 2,000 students in the last 5 years. The “Festival of Light” will be an extension of these practices inviting people from all over the Country, all walks of life, all ages, colours and creed to gather in Ennis town center and come together to raise consciousness and create an energy that supports not just the town, but also the swell of interest in these particular fields of study as a result of the changing social and economic landscapes in Ireland. People are looking within themselves to find new ways to cope, live, prosper in these challenging times and “The Ennis Festival of Light” creates an opportunity for people to come together and quite literally begin the process of "wakening up". In the climate that we find ourselves we are being called to experience greater awakening and growth and we want Ennis to becoming a leading, guiding light as this change occurs. The ethos of the festival and of yoga, mediation, mindful movement and chant is, at its simplest, a way to shift the vibrational charges in the body, in the environment, in the Town and create an environment firstly within ourselves and then extend it outwards to facilitate deep positive change and healing. This work when practiced properly extends far beyond our single - soul selves and brings us into a place of deeper connection and unity. We need to create this community in order to support and encourage growth and change in our wider communities. The Ennis Festival of Light weekend will be as follows Friday 22nd Nov 2013; *"Group Meditation" lead by Clairvoyant Healer Peter Tadd *“Dance Till Your Shinning” An ongoing wave of dance, movement & meditation in the spirit of the 5 Rhythms Dance Practices of Gabrielle Roth - an opportunity to move, dance, Let loose and Let go….. *"Silent Walk of Prayer and Intention" Saturday 23 Nov 2013; *"12 Yoga classes" 7 Fantastic Teachers *The Trailblaze “Ignite the light” Trailblazer is a dynamic platform showcasing and promoting creative and socially engaged ideas, people and possibilities alive in Ireland right now. *"Jack Harrison & Band" kirtan singer and folklorist Sunday 24 Nov 2013; *Restoritive Yoga Class *Plus our "Mini Market For The Soul" Please see Festival website for details and bookings www.ennisfestivaloflight.com info@ennisfestivaloflight.com 1 Amazing Weekend.
