Cloughjordan House, a 400 year old property based in North Tipperary is home to a Cookery School, Guest house and Wedding and Events venue. Sarah Baker who is Ballymaloe trained, established the Cookery School in 2009. The boutique style Guest rooms and intimate Ballroom wedding and events space complement the Cookery school in that Quality Food is the Centre of all our focus.Our hands on cookery classes will inspire you to cook for fun and create your own unique dishes at home. With an emphasis on fresh, seasonal and local foods, learn both essential techniques and creative cooking in the intimate setting of our country house kitchen. We also offer one and two-day field trips for Transition Year students, combining our cookery classes with education in quality food production, practical cookery and food awareness in relation to the green agenda.

I also cater for small gatherings like communions or christenings, making curries, lasagne, selections of salads and dips.

Founded in 1968 in the heart of Rathgar Village, The Gourmet Shop took over from the old Leverett & Frye gourmet store. It was from this famous grocery chain that brothers Sean and Tommy Cronin learnt their trade and valuable knowledge both working in the Grafton St and Dundrum branch before setting up the family run business to this day in Rathgar. The shop is now run by proprietor Sean and his daughter. Step through the burgundy-painted exterior and antique-style lettering shop sign and it feels like you are entering back into time, with its authentic interior displaying exclusive, high quality goods and top class wines. There is an excellent choice of cheeses and various cuts of cold meats available from the deli. It is a shop for all seasons and food aficionados. Apart from locals from the Rathgar area, people travel from all over the country to come to this shop especially at Christmas to buy quality dried fruit for their Christmas cakes. Many customers say it isn't Christmas until they enter The Gourmet Shop. Christmas hampers are also a hugely popular gift to give or to get your hands on. Nowadays as most traditional shops have disappeared, The Gourmet Shop still retains a local, unique and personal feel to any customer who walks in the door.

Pat The Baker was founded in 1953 in Granard, Co Longford. Since then the bakery has been continuously expanded to meet growing demand. This has included utilizing new technologies to allow for increased production capacity and higher standards of quality and freshness. The freshness is reflected in our slogan So Fresh, It’s Famous which is now part of the corporate logo and is readily identifiable with the company. In 1984 the company opened its first depot, in Dublin, to cater for its growing market. This was later followed by depots in other parts of the country. During this expansion the level of employment provided by the company has grown and now the company provides employment, through direct employees and self-employed agents, to over 400 people. In 1996 the company moved into new purpose built offices in Moxham Street, Granard, Co Longford, which now serves as a modern corporate headquarters.
