Tullamore Music Lessons

Tullamore Music Lessons

Music Lessons for Children Parents enrolling children for music lessons don't always realize the full benefits that a musical education can have on the development of their child. Even if a child does not end up being a professional musician, the positive effects of music lessons can be very valuable during the rest of a child's life. Here are a few example areas: Enjoyment Music is a great form of enjoyment whether it's for friends, family, or self-entertainment. Discipline Organisation of a consistent daily practice routine requires a tremendous amount of self-discipline. Children tend to be more successful later in life if they learn early that it pays to work hard for what they want. Co-ordination/Balance When reading music, hands must react quickly according to what the eyes see on the page. This skill can also prove useful in sports and other activities which benefit from quick reaction times. Mathematics As all musical note values are based on subdivision, musical understanding is a very useful tool in developing arithmetic and building a good foundation in basic mathematics. Self-confidence Performance in a concert situation can help to build a music students' self-confidence in front of an audience. This experience can prove invaluable later in adult life when dealing with presentations etc. Culture Learning about different styles of music, composers, and the history of music can help make children more well-rounded individuals. Children who take music lessons gain many of these skills without even being aware of it. Whether or not these skills are vital in their future careers, the positive impact of music lessons can help prepare them to have more healthy and successful lives. Music Lessons for Adults You've made it this far - here are a few reasons to remind you why taking up music lessons is a great idea! Because You Love Music It doesn’t matter if your style is classical or country, rock and roll or jazz, everyone loves some kind of music. Think of how much you enjoy listening to your favorite songs on the radio, then imagine how you'd feel being able to play those same songs yourself. Learning to play a musical instrument can be one of the most rewarding ways to experience your love of music. Brain Power Boost Studies have shown that learning to play music can improve your IQ. Most studies have focused on children, but studies show that adults can reap benefits as well. Children show more increased levels of self-discipline and generally are more successful in school than their non-musical friends. For adults, researchers have measured strong changes in the brains of those who take music lessons, even at 65+. You’re never too old to learn to play a musical instrument! Confidence Building Mastering a new skill is a great way to build confidence. You won’t become a master within a few lessons, but you will improve week by week as you practice and learn. Determination to learn a new skill can increase self-discipline, and in doing so, build self-confidence. Performance Taking up a musical instrument may well give you the opportunity to perform, either in a recital or at home for friends and family. The applause and positive support you get from your friends and loved ones after a performance can give you a real boost. It's Fun! The most important reason to take music lessons is that it’s fun! Music making is something that can bring you endless hours of enjoyment for the rest of your life! That can't be a bad thing!
