The Maynooth Kilcock Lions Club was formed in 1981 as the 77th Lions Club in Ireland. Lions International presented the Charter to the then President Mr. Jack Mc Ilhenney in Newbridge in 1981. Lions are Ordinary People doing amazing Things. The Cork Folklore Project was founded as a non-profit community research archive in partnership with the Department of Folklore and Ethnology at University College Cork, Northside Community Enterprises and FÁS. The Ballyhaunis Family Resource Centre was started in 2004 and is based in the Friary House at St Mary's Abbey. The Family Resource Centre is focused on providing practical support, information and opportunities to all families and people in our community and works with other organisations and state agencies to improve the quality and range of services available in the Ballyhaunis area. A great deal of work of the Family Resource Centre depends on the participation of volunteers in both our management committee and in the activities themselves. The FRC is controlled by a board of directors.
