Castleconnell Craft Fair

Castleconnell Craft Fair

Castle Oaks House Hotel, Castleconnell ,
Castleconnell Craft Fair is held annually in the Castle Oaks House Hotel during the October Bank Holiday weekend 0 Sunday & Monday, 12pm-6pm. The fair, which is one of the most successful craft events in the country, has been running for over twenty five years. It began in 1989 as an initiative to promote the work of local craftworkers. Over time the Craft Fair has expanded to include exhibitors from all four provinces. Crafts on display include: woodcarving and turning, glass, ceramics, art work (watercolours, oils, acrylic, pastels and charcoal), leather, wicker, embroidery, batik, millinery, scarves and handbags, soap, candles, photography and jewellery. Each year over 3,000 visitors attend the two-day event which is an ideal opportunity to meet craftworkers, buy Christmas gifts and to directly support Irish Entrepreneurs. Castleconnell Craft Fair aims to promote and support Irish craftworkers, and all work on display is made in Ireland. The event is organised each year by a voluntary committee and all profits raised are donated to local community groups such as Care of the Aged, Bord na nÓg and the local community centre (ACM). The Craft Fair is supported by Limerick County Enterprise Board and the Castle Oaks House Hotel.
