The Zoo Story, Dublin

The Zoo Story, Dublin

23 Wicklow Street, Dublin ,
McMc Productions returns to the International Bar with Edward Albee's 'The Zoo Story' in a joint production with The Agni Acting Studio. Featuring Fionnbarr McDaid and John Stafford. Directed by Hope Brown Edward Albee's masterpiece 'The Zoo Story' is based in Central Park in 1960 on a sunny Sunday summer afternoon. The play opens on the eve of the Summer Solstice and celebrates the 50th year anniversary of the very first performance of this much loved play. The production team are very privileged to have this honour. This one act play explores the stories of two men; Peter and Jerry. Peter, a middle class publishing executive who lives in ignorance of the world outside his comfortable married life, sits reading on a park bench. Along comes Jerry, an isolated, disheartened man who is very troubled. Jerry is desperate to have a meaningful conversation with another human being. He intrudes on Peter's peaceful state by interrogating him and forcing him to listen to his life story and the reason behind his visit to the New York Zoo. The dialogue is riveting throughout with rich elements of ironic humour set against unrelenting dramatic suspense. The play is brought to a climax when Jerry brings his victim down to his own savage level with a shocking ending. 'The Zoo Story' is a great success and deals with topics such as human contact, companionship, materialism, communication, spiritualism, loneliness and sexuality.

Dear Lilly

Dear Lilly

You know the expression "Something Old, Something New......... These beautiful pieces just needed to be renewed, and find a home where they can be re-loved. I have used my passion for interiors to bring life back into these "unwanted" and "out of date" pieces of furniture. I hope you can come to love and appreciate these pieces as much as I have, and bring a little bit of the past into your present.
