Lisa Shine is a professionally qualified Speech and Language Therapist, and a member of the Irish Association of Speech Language Therapists. Her clinic can be located at the Wateford Health Park, Slievekeale Road, Waterford.
Qualifications:
Lisa has obtained an honours degree from University College Cork in Social Science (B.Soc.Sc), and a Masters degree from the University of Limerick in Speech and Language Therapy (M.Sc in SLT). Lisa is professionally qualified in Dysphagia (eating, drinking, swallowing disorders).

The Central Remedial Clinic, Waterford Regional Hospital (e.g. cerebral palsy, spina bifida etc)
Paediatric Community Clinic, Nenagh (e.g speech/language disorder, specific language impairment)
Adult Community Clinic, Ennis (e.g. Parkinson's Disease, Stroke, M.S., brain injury, dyslexia)
Inpatient/outpatient Hospice, Limerick city (e.g. Stroke, aphasia, dysarthria, dyslexia)
Most recently, Lisa has worked in acute neurology in the Waterford Regional Hospital. Lisa worked with patients admitted to hospital with a variety of medical conditions such as: acute stroke, brain injury, gerontology, Parkinson's Disease, Huntington's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, dementia, palliative care, people with queried dysphagia and other neurological conditions that affect speech, language, communication, or a person's ability to swallow liquids or foods safely.
Lisa is a trained Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) tutor, and has worked in a school with children with mild to severe autism
She also has experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), and high tech communication devices such as LightWriters and DynaVox.
