Swords Celtic Football Club was founded in 1962 by George McGrane, Jim Rogers, Oliver Dignam and Wally Galvin and shortly afterwards Frankie Monaghan got involved. The club’s early successes included a number of league titles and the Subsidiary Cup in 1973. Since 1972, when Frankie started the first Swords Celtic schoolboy team, schoolboy football has become progressively stronger in the club. In the late 1980’s, the club began a phased programme of development to bring us where we are today. Today we can boast having teams from the age of 6 years of age right up to senior level, with teams at every age group possible. Our latest transition into the DDSL leagues will surely improve the club going forward and our aim for our 50th anniversary must surely be to deliver success at the highest level possibly both in the Schoolboy section and at senior level.We currently have 6 senior teams with our first team competing in major sunday just outside the intermediate leagues. Whatever the future holds for the club, there’s no doubt George, Jim, Oliver, Wally and Frankie could ever have anticipated the growth and success their venture into the world of Soccer would yield. We are an Irish company based in The Music Outlet, in Swords, in North County Dublin. Between us we have many years in the Music Business in both repair, tech and playing roles. We are: Niall (me) - I have the pleasure of owning all of this... I have been playing guitar for 30 years now and have been working on guitars for most of that, since I refretted my first Aria Pro 2 when I was 15 (for no reason what so ever...) I have worked both in Ireland and the US as a guitar tech for touring bands and have gained a huge amount of experience between that and the 5 years of owning and working in the Music Outlet. Stuart - Is a drummer (I was going to leave it at that..) Leaving that aside he is also plays a bit of guitar and bass and has the biggest collection of guitars between us all. He is also a qualified Electronics Engineer and has been working in The Music Outlet since we opened in 2008 so has a amassed a huge amount of experience working on guitars... Ben - Is our resident Bass Player and has been playing along with myself and Stuart for 30 years or so.. He has also worked with us since the shop opened in 2008 so is up to speed with all your requirements.. Mark - Is our other electronics expert with over 30 years experience working on one type of electronic equipment or another. He is also a guitarist and a mean harmonica player and has worked here since we opened too.. Conor - Is our trainee, currently studying electronics in college he works part-time with us and has done for the past couple of years gaining invaluable experience. Kevin - Is our young gun, about to start 6th year , he helps us out at weekends etc but as one of the internet generation, he knows more than all of us about what's new and up-and-coming in the music world and is a valuable part of the team.
