Barefoot Dance Centre
Barefoot Dance Centre offers dance classes to both children and adults in three different locations. Classes are available in Dunboyne, Kilcloon and Kilcock in Ballet, Irish dance and Belly dance.
Barefoot Dance Centre is run by Siobhan Mulligan. Siobhan has been training in many forms of dance including Ballet and Irish dance since the age of 4. After success in examinations Siobhan was chosen aged 8 to study for Vocational examinations through The Royal Academy of Dance.
Siobhan then attended third level education studying Dance.She attended Inchicore College of Dance and then Ballet West in Scotland studying Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap and Hip-hop. All this while still attending Irish dance classes in the evenings and competitions at the weekends. Siobhan was ranked 4th in Leinster 3 years running and qualified and competed at The World Irish Dance Championships on many occasions earning herself a World Medal in 2011.
Siobhan continued her dance studies and earned high marks in Vocational examinations. She attained a Merit in the RAD Advanced 1 examination and an A in Dance Performance and Stage Craft credited by the Highland University.
Siobhan then studied for her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies through the RAD and was successful in 2011.
Since then Siobhan has been living in Egypt and performing professionally as a Jazz dancer and Egyptian Folkloric dancer. Siobhan has worked in many of Egypt's 5 star resorts including, The Ritz Carlton, The Hyatt Regancy and Four Seasons. Siobhan has studied Oriental Belly dance, Egyptian Folkloric dance and Tanoura dance and now wishes to share her knowledge with her students here in Ireland.
Ballet:
Ballet classes are available for children aged 3-6 years. Classes are all based on The Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. Each child will learn to express themselves through simple story telling,mime and movement. Children will learn poise and elegance though ballet and discipline that will last a lifetime. Meeting new friends and having fun in a safe atmosphere is our priority at Barefoot dance.
Irish dance:
We offer classes to children aged 4-8yrs. Basic technique is introduced through strengthening and placement. Each child can expect to develop a knowledge of timing and rhythm through simple movements. Team dances will be introduced to help build friendships and confidence.
Egyptian Belly dance:
Egyptian Belly dance classes are offered in a 'Woman only' carefree environment. Learn basic technique and rhythms. Tone up and learn to express yourself through movement. Build self confidence and make new friends. Classes are suitable for any Woman over the age of 17 including those who may suffer from pain related muscular diseases as Belly dance is a non impact dance style it will leave suffers pain free. Belly dance is also great for pregnant woman as it builds and strengthens muscles in the abdominal and lower back area this aids a smooth and healthy pregnancy.
