My belief is that, it should not be just a privilege for some but an opportunity for all women to feel powerful and competent during the birth. When a mother is properly prepared, physically, mentally, emotionally and has the involvement and support of their partner, she is in the optimal state to experience a comfortable and often quicker, pain free birth.
The HypnoBirthing programme encourages partners not to be just onlookers but major participants. It addresses any concerns they may have, making this a pleasant empowering experience for all. In fact, the partners are often the ones who spread the word on how great HypnoBirthing can be.
It does not guarantee a completely pain-free and picture-perfect ‘natural’ birth (although that is possible) but it certainly offers the possibility of a calmer, easier, more comfortable birth- where you are in control.
Suitable for individual or group bookings, this 10 hour programme is designed to be run as weekly classes, to give you the chance to go away and practice the techniques and then come back and get assistance and guidance from your practitioner at the next class. Somewhere between 25-30 weeks is ideal, as the success of the course is strongly linked to how much practice you do.
Birthing companions are a very important part of HypnoBirthing success. However, if your partner/husband cannot attend the classes and/or help you practice or attend the birth, your mother, sister or friend can also be your birthing companion.
Courses start at any time after 13 weeks into pregnancy and right up to 36 weeks, although earlier is optimal.
