A very big welcome one and all to IADT! The student union is at your beck and call, and supplies a generalised student service at ground level. We are made up of current students elected by you and are an independent body from the college. This ensures that students have full confidence in raising any issue through us whether it’s a direct complaint at the college’s performance or something of a more personal nature, either of which will be dealt with in the strictest of confidence. The students of IADT are our only interest, and we represent you on many fronts such as education; health; grants; funding; development; the list goes on… The student union office is a service in itself. Situated adjacent to the rear of the Chapel the offices door is open daily to supply students with relevant information on topics such as student welfare, equality and education issues. We also run a small stationary shop and offer the use of board games, video games, table games, television and a cheap photocopying service. Throughout the year we offer students financial assistance. Call in and talk to us about the Childcare Fund, Student Assistance Fund, the Welfare Loan Scheme, and how to apply for the maintenance grant. Our job also mandates us to represent the student body on various internal and external committees and working groups. We continually support and run our own campaigns on any important issue from finance to sexual health throughout the year. The Student Union also publishes a monthly newspaper, maintain our website and various web pages and manage the student recreational space, “The Chapel”, providing weekly entertainment and arranging big social events like Freshers Week, Rag Week, the Formal Ball, Halloween Ball, Christmas ball….
