Eyelash extensions are a popular new service and product that lengthens and thickens your own natural eyelashes. Lash extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. They are applied to each individual natural eyelash one by one for a natural, beautiful and luscious look. Eyelash extensions are perfect for special occasions or for day to day wear. How long will it take to apply extensions and how is it done? The application process for lash extensions normally takes anywhere from 45 min. - 90 min. You will lie comfortably with your eyes closed, a pad will be placed to cover your lower lashes. Then the extensions will be applied to each individual eyelash. What do eyelash extensions look like when applied? With proper application the look and feel is completely natural looking and real. Everyone will think you were born with beautiful, long lashes! How long will a set of eyelash extensions last? When applied the eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes. Everyone's experience will be different based on day to day activities but over all they should last 4-6 weeks if depending on how they're worn. The bonding adhesive does not contain any fumes or irritants. How often should I get refills? I’d recommend getting refills between 3-4 weeks. Your natural eyelashes fall off every 45 - 60 days due to the natural growth cycle and are naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. Other factors such as exposure to steam or touching your eyes a lot may cause the extensions to fall sooner. Refills are needed to fill in any lashes that fallen. Refills average about 45 minutes per application. Can I apply mascara to eyelash extensions? You can apply mascara although it is not really required since the extensions actually give the illusion of wearing mascara. Do not use oil-based or water-proof mascara as they can dissolve the glue and shorten the longevity of your extensions. Only use a water based eye makeup remover. Can I swim, shower, exercise, with eyelash extensions? Yes. The bonding agent is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise etc. Special care is required but overall maintenance is low. I’d recommend that you do not wash your eye area for about 12- 24 hours after the eyelash application. Can I use eyelash curlers on eyelash extensions? Do not use a mechanical eyelash curler. This can cause lash breakage. How to take care of your eyelash extensions: Do not allow water to contact your lashes for up to 24 hours after the application. Do not steam face, steam bath, swim or wash face with hot water for 48 hours. Only use oil free eye-makeup remover (e.g. Simple eye-makeup remover) Do not use lash curlers or not perm your lashes. Do not use products that contain oil directly on the lashes including - foundation, moisturiser, eye cream, face wash and sun cream. Gently comb through the lashes every day to keep them separated. Try and be conscious not to rub your eyes. Do lie and tell everyone they are yours! The best way to cleanse the lashes is to use warm water (previously boiled) and add a few drops of baby shampoo. Using a cotton bud wipe along the lash line to give it a good clean, this will help to clean away any bacteria or debris that has built up. This can be done 2 to 3 times a week. Not only will this help to keep your lashes clean it can also help you grow your eyelashes to the maximum length that they can be, it’s also a great preventative measure to help avoid any eyelash related health problems. Not to mention keeping your semi permanent eyelash extensions in top condition. Do fib and tell everyone they are yours!
