Celebrating its 21st edition this handbook has been an annual best seller from its inception. It is an invaluable year round guide not alone to farmers but to all who are dealing with farmers. The 2014 handbook in common with its previous editions, attempts to equip farmers and those professionals serving them with comprehensive up to date information on a broad range of topics crucial to future farm planning strategies. Farming is ever changing and each new annual edition offers the reader an update on what’s new and what’s changed in Irish agriculture in the previous twelve months.
The handbook is published for and in association with the Agricultural Consultants Association and draws on the knowledge base and expertise of many of the members of that association.

Martin O'Sullivan (UCD graduate) is one of the longest serving private Agricultural Consultants in Ireland having commenced practice in 1978. Prior to setting up practice he served as an Agricultural Advisor with the Irish state farm advisory service (now Teagasc). Apart from his involvement in farm consultancy he is also a partner with O'Sullivan Malone & Co, Accountants & Registered Auditors specialising in farm taxation. With the benefit of experience of solving farmers problems on a day to day basis and also the ongoing feed back from the first nineteen editions of The Farmers' Handbook, the author has attempted to provide a practical working guide that will benefit farmers, professionals and students
