Located in the seaside town of Buncrana, Co. Donegal, Hegarty's Home Interiors is a family run business and has been in operation since 1946, when it was established by James Edward Hegarty and his wife Mary. Over the years, Hegartys has expanded and now operate in a 25,000 sq foot department store, still in its current location, on upper Main Street, Buncrana now with convenient customer parking to the rear
Back in 1946, James started a shop to provide the people of Buncrana with goods at a very cost effective price. Selling products such as carpets, vinyl's, fridges, furniture and giftware some of which we still sell today. Over the years, James along with his wife Mary and daughter Maura expanded the shop and the products they sold to include giftware and even diamond jewellery. James bought several premises on either side of the original shop to help widen the shop on the Main Street. At this stage Hegarty's operated very successfully providing quality goods and services to customers from Inishowen and Derry.
In more recent years, as late as 2002, another 10,000 sq feet of retail space was added to the shop. This allowed for the creation of one of the most modern and up to date flooring stores showing a huge selection of carpets, wood floors and vinyls. Hegarty's now have a state of the art flooring store, and a huge selection of living room and bedroom furniture spread over three floors, - something for everywhere in the home.
Now, in 2012, James E. Hegarty & Co Ltd, becoming better known as Hegarty's Home Interiors, is renowned for service and quality. Our store provides an array of departments which include flooring, furniture, and giftware, and kitchenware, electrical and audio/visual equipment
