About Us Our swimmers will be taught to swim in one of the best swimming environments in Inishowen. All of our teachers are CRB checked and are trained to the highest STA/ASA/ BTS standards. What we offer - Holiday Intensive - Private 1-2-1 - Baby and Toddler - Children’s lessons - Adults Lessons Holiday Intensive 30 minute lesson everyday , Monday to Friday ( condensing five weeks worth of lessons into one week) This fantastic program is offered at Halloween, Midterm break, Easter and during the summer holidays. Private 1-2-1 This program caters for individuals who might benefit from an extra boost or perhaps need to learn a specific skill, or who just want that extra individual attention. This program is a very popular way of achieving quick results. Baby and Toddler Every lesson will be fun and enjoyable for you and your baby through games, songs and activities that are appealing for baby's curiosity to play. Baby's have a natural affinity with water from birth, their reflexes in the water are natural however if these early reflexes are not strengthened by regular stimulation they will disappear after 6 months. When you introduce your baby before this age through regular lessons and repetitive instructions your baby will learn to use their arms and legs naturally. Swimming is the only activity they can do completely independently before they can walk or crawl unaided. • Nurturing babies to develop their natural affinity with water. • These fun enjoyable sessions will help you as parent to teach your child a skill for life. You will support your baby throughout the lessons helping and encouraging then with floating and submerging. Baby will be perfectly safe if/when submerged. This is because when a baby under 6 months is submerged, their gag reflex kicks in, meaning the 'epiglottis' closes over and blocks the 'trachea' and so no water can enter. Babies over 6 months have to be trained to hold their breath. These sessions often improve your baby's sleeping pattern. The lessons will also help strengthen baby's heart lungs and respiratory system. It will also increase your babies levels of awareness and understanding. The emphasis will be on making your baby feel relaxed and happy in the water, only when I feel your baby is ready will I allow your baby to be submerged. Submersions are always done under supervision and are only for a few seconds at a time.
