Harnessing Creativity
With INTERREG IVA Funding of €800,000 Harnessing Creativity will engage 200
creative sector businesses and at least 100 businesses from the broader economy.
Harnessing Creativity is a cross-border project that will be delivered by Leitrim
County Enterprise Board in partnership with the Irish Central Border Area Network
(ICBAN), Leitrim County Council, Fermanagh District Council, Omagh Enterprise
Agency, Tyrone Donegal Partnership and the Leitrim Design House.
The project will deliver 70 master classes, 140 training and mentoring
workshops, 2 regional showcase events and travelling exhibition will run until
May 2015 at locations throughout Leitrim, Fermanagh and Tyrone, a region
ideally
Harnessing Creativity is supported by the European Union's INTERREG IVA
Programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.
The practical objectives of the project are to:
•Provide direct support to the creative sector to generate new ideas and gain
better business skills.
•Bring representatives of the creative economy into closer working contact with those of broader business, whether that be manufacturing, tourism, services etc.
•To create spaces in which this creative thinking can happen before channelling
the results into more focused products, processes or experiences in the economy.•
To demostrate what is possible this might apply to the way creative businesses ‘re-invent’ themselves and their skills to move out of declining sectors of the economy and find new more vibrant ways to use their skills.
•To use the project as a promotional tool for the region as a creative region, with the potential to attract tourism and influence inward investment / re-location decisions.
There are a number of levels at which the project can operate in harnessing creativity:
• At individual level: inspiring fresh ideas about talents and skills and encouraging entrepreneurship.
• At business or business cluster level: encouraging new product or process / presentational / marketing initiatives
• At regional level: presenting the region as a location of creativity and economic and cultural vibrancy.
placed to benefit from and inspire the programme. A hotbed of creative talent.
