Barrett Solar Ltd, formerly known as F.Barrett & Co started trading in 1996 when Neil Marr took it over from Entrepreneur Leslie Green. The Business has a unique history supplying lanterns & their components to Harbour Authorities & County Councils. They originally supplied Wigham Wick Lanterns before electricity was invented. The multiwick lanterns can be viewed at the Maritime Museum in Dun Laoghaire. F.Barrett & Co was originally named Edmundson founded in 1864, who were Electrical engineers who did some outstanding pioneering projects. Back in 1996, F.Barrett & Co, helped to organise a meeting amongst solar energy enthusiasts which culminated in the founding of the Irish Solar Energy association. We supply lanterns, Solar PV panels, batteries, electrical components to various County Councils, Harbour Authorities. We are also supplying Solar panels for hot water heating to the domestic market and commercial sector. We have installed solar tube collectors & flat plate collectors since 2001 and have come to the conclusion that the Thermo dynamic collector with the refrigerant gas is more favourable & efficient in the Climate of Ireland, than conventional solar panels that have saturated the market. Today Barret Solar Ltd are at the forefront of Thermodynamic Technologies.
