Caritas College is a girls voluntary school with a tradition in excellence since 1966. Our new school builidng provides the verybest modern facilities. We aim to promote the personal, spiritual, social, educational and vocational potential of each student as a member of Ceist (Catholic Education Irish Schools Trust). While we are a Catholic School, we welcome students of other nationalities and creed.
Caritas College, a girls’ voluntary secondary school, has served Ballyfermot and the surrounding area since 1966. The school building was replaced in 1996 and is now equipped with modern facilities. The aim of the school is to promote the personal, spiritual, social, educational and vocational potential of its students within the ethos of the Daughters of Charity, and so prepare them for their role in society as responsible adults.
Caritas seeks to promote active cooperation between home, school and community. The college took advantage of the Transition Year Programme, a student-centered interdisciplinary programme, as an option for all its students. It piloted the Applied Leaving Certificate, which is now mainstreamed and it follows the traditional Leaving Certificate Programme in the Senior Cycle.
The Daughters of Charity, together with a very dedicated staff, cater for the needs of the young people in Ballyfermot in an ever-changing society.
