Tuam AC's annual 8K road race will take place on Sunday 19th January 2014 at 2.30pm. It will be the 10th running of this fantastic event and the race has grown every year since it’s first outing in 2005 when 130 runners, joggers and walkers finished the race. By 2013 year that number had risen to over 900 and we hope even more will make this great event in 2014. Tuam AC unveiled a new fast, flat single lap course for the 2012 race which will avoid the roadworks and will start and finish close to our usual race headquarters in The Mercy Gym on Dublin Road. The race entry fee has never increased since we started 9 years ago and it will remain at €15 again in 2014 which represents great value for money as we have once again managed to secure top quality Kelanji running socks in packs of 3 pairs and the first 500 entrants for the 2014 race will be guaranteed socks. We will also have our legendary post race refreshments and a total prize fund in excess of €1000 including prizes in all of the different age categories. Wicklow Golf Club History Wicklow Golf Club was formed in 1904, it began as a nine hole course, and continued as a nine hole until 1994, when it was extended to an 18 hole course. The new Club house was built in 2002 to bring the club and course right up to date with the growing standards around the country. Wicklow Golf Club broke ranks with the rest of the county Clubs by having Ladys as full members from the very beginning. Ladies also attended and voted at the meeting of the 14th October 1904, at which Wicklow Golf Club was formally constituted In 1906 the Dublin, Wicklow, and Wexford Railway Company sponsored the first Open Mixed Foursomes Competition to be run by the Club. Three Films have been shot on and around the Wicklow Golf Course, namely John Boorman’s “Excalibur”, Pierce Brosnan’s “Taffin”, and more recently “Reign of Fire” which starred Mathew Mc Coughnaty. Today the Course is among the most scenic in the country, and boasts great views along the east coast. With the rugged cliffs and rolling fairways.

Dr. Hyde Park (Páirc de hÍde in Irish) is a GAA stadium in Roscommon, Ireland. Built in 1969, and officially opened in 1971, it is the home of the Roscommon Gaelic football team, with Athleague being the traditional home for the Roscommon hurling team. Named after Gaelic scholar and first President of Ireland, Douglas Hyde, the ground has had a capacity of about 30,000, though that was reduced to 18,500 after a nationwide inspection of facilities by the GAA in 2011. Remedial works have since been carried out at the ground, and the capacity may be reviewed.The ground has hosted numerous Connacht Senior Football Championship finals, regardless of Roscommon's participation. Most memorably, it hosted the 1994 Connacht Final in which Leitrim triumphed over Mayo to win their first title since 1927. Other memorable Connacht finals hosted on this ground include the titanic tussle between Roscommon and Galway in 1998, Roscommon's dramatic last gap win over Mayo in 2001 and Sligo's triumph over Galway in 2007. In the initial years of the All-Ireland qualifiers, the ground played host to numerous ties, although in recent years, virtually none have taken places at this ground.

Facilities include an indoor sports hall, two 5 aside astroturf pitches, a larger 9 aside astroturf pitch, a full sized hockey pitch, a grass athletics track, grass soccer pitches, a meeting room and eight changing rooms.
