Caritas College is a girls voluntary school with a tradition in excellence since 1966. Our new school builidng provides the verybest modern facilities. We aim to promote the personal, spiritual, social, educational and vocational potential of each student as a member of Ceist (Catholic Education Irish Schools Trust). While we are a Catholic School, we welcome students of other nationalities and creed. Caritas College, a girls’ voluntary secondary school, has served Ballyfermot and the surrounding area since 1966. The school building was replaced in 1996 and is now equipped with modern facilities. The aim of the school is to promote the personal, spiritual, social, educational and vocational potential of its students within the ethos of the Daughters of Charity, and so prepare them for their role in society as responsible adults. Caritas seeks to promote active cooperation between home, school and community. The college took advantage of the Transition Year Programme, a student-centered interdisciplinary programme, as an option for all its students. It piloted the Applied Leaving Certificate, which is now mainstreamed and it follows the traditional Leaving Certificate Programme in the Senior Cycle. The Daughters of Charity, together with a very dedicated staff, cater for the needs of the young people in Ballyfermot in an ever-changing society.

Friday 9th October saw the Class of '89 hold their 20 year reunion and what a night! Everyone looked fantastic... Let's not leave it another 20 years before we meet up again!

This event was started by Mrs. Mary Roche and with the support of her husband Richard it has become the largest fundraiser for the RNLI in the west of Ireland. The generosity of the local people with the help of our hard working volunteers raised a fantastic €30,000 from our previous 3 years. This money was donated to Galway branch of RNLI to help the service provided in the Galway region. This years fundraiser on July 21st has something for all the family. Based on the quay in Kinvara, it will kick off at 1pm with live music and BBQ's., Kid's activities like Kayak trips will take place in the bay, Pirate Parade with prize for best costume, Crazy Clowns and Face Painting. Raffle tickets will be for sale throughout the day with prizes including tv's, camera's and mobile phones. Tickets for these prizes will be drawn every hour. To finish the day on a high note, an auction and live music will take place at 8pm in the Pier Head. Join us for all this to help a fantastic cause and support the volunteers who have saved 139,000 lives.
