We are showing solidarity with #Occupy movements around the world. Since the#OccupyWallStreet movement started on 17th September, #Occupy movements have sprung up around the globe. Our aim is to show solidarity with these movements and express a growing sense of frustration with social inequality and corporate greed among the people of Ireland. Austerity measures and mass unemployment are inflicting a lasting damage upon this country and still no one has been brought to justice for the greatest of crimes. #OccupyGalway began on Eyre Square at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday 15th October.

This event was started by Mrs. Mary Roche and with the support of her husband Richard it has become the largest fundraiser for the RNLI in the west of Ireland. The generosity of the local people with the help of our hard working volunteers raised a fantastic €30,000 from our previous 3 years. This money was donated to Galway branch of RNLI to help the service provided in the Galway region. This years fundraiser on July 21st has something for all the family. Based on the quay in Kinvara, it will kick off at 1pm with live music and BBQ's., Kid's activities like Kayak trips will take place in the bay, Pirate Parade with prize for best costume, Crazy Clowns and Face Painting. Raffle tickets will be for sale throughout the day with prizes including tv's, camera's and mobile phones. Tickets for these prizes will be drawn every hour. To finish the day on a high note, an auction and live music will take place at 8pm in the Pier Head. Join us for all this to help a fantastic cause and support the volunteers who have saved 139,000 lives.

Arklow Majorettes Militare are a new club started by over 20 ex-majorettes that aim to bring Majorettes back to Arklow. We will accept Girls & Boys from 4 yrs of age to 18yrs plus.

Piltown Community Enterprise is a non profit organisation consisting of members drawn from other local groups and organisations, with a wide range of experiences and skills.

The Hall was originally the local Creamery, then a dancehall, and was renovated and extended in 2011, maintaining many of the character features of the original building, while ensuring the comforts and amenities required in the 21st century. It now includes a function room with stage and changing-room, commercial kitchen, office area, café/meeting room and car park. It is recognised as one of the best community facilities in the county. Africa Centre is a voluntary organisation based in Dublin. It is a membership organisation working in three main areas: Community Participation for the African Community in Ireland; Development Education, to address the need for an effective ‘Multiple African Perspectives’ in Development Education (DE) on the Island of Ireland; and Policy and Research, to influence policy decisions in Ireland. Membership to the organisation is always welcome from groups and individuals. Africa Centre is also a registered charity, with the Office of the Revenue Commissioners, under registration number CHY 14980. This status grants the Centre tax exemption, which applies to income Tax/Corporation Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Deposit Interest Retention Tax as well as to the income and property of the organisation.
