ARC - Animal Rescue Cobh

ARC - Animal Rescue Cobh

Cobh, Cobh ,
ARC was founded in January 2012 when a group of animal lovers in Cobh realised the need for an animal welfare/rescue group in the town. There are so many people in Cobh who love animals and want to help them but do not know how to channel their energies. ARC's objective is to harness this support and create a network of volunteers to help the plight of our town's animals in need.

Athlone Animal Welfare

Athlone Animal Welfare

In addition to the dedicated cattery, AAW believes that education is the key to preventing many of the animal welfare issues arising in Ireland and so one of our main activities is the development and delivery of educational programmes to schools in the locality. As funds permit, AAW provide for the vaccination & rehoming of cats and kittens; trap, release & neuter schemes for healthy feral cats; public assistance, and promotional campaigns for the neutering and spaying of pets. Please note all cats and kittens adopted from AAW are fully vaccinated and dewormed. We request a small donation of €20 for adoptions to help contribute toward the cost of the vaccinations.

Thank You Crumlin

Thank You Crumlin

My name is Mia Keaveney and I am 13 years old. I was born in Hunan province in China. I came to live with my Irish family in March of 2002. I live with dad Clem, my mom Sally, my sister Meghan, my two brothers Jordan and Brett and my dog Harry. I’m currently in 5th class at school. When I was tiny in China, I had an accident where I was very badly burned. I needed a lot of treatment and operations so I have been going to Crumlin Children’s Hospital ever since I arrived in Ireland. Thanks to Crumlin, and all the great doctors and nurses, I am now so much better and I am still getting treatment for my leg and foot. Our current plan is to build a brand new Orthopedic unit. We the Citizens

We the Citizens

13 - 17 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 , Dublin ,
‘We the Citizens’ is an independent national initiative with a clear and simple idea. We want to demonstrate that our Republic could benefit by citizens coming together in new forms of public decision-making. We invited people across Ireland to share their views on how we could renew Ireland at citizens’ events in Kilkenny, Cork, Galway, Blanchardstown, Tallaght, Letterkenny & Athlone. These gatherings led to a National Citizens’ Assembly – the first of its kind in Ireland - where 100 people from all over Ireland and from every background gathered to discuss Ireland’s future. We intend to remind the political parties that they have all promised citizen led reforms. Follow developments and join the debate here.

Fundraising for the Little Hearts of Crumlin Childrens Hospital

Fundraising for the Little Hearts of Crumlin Childrens Hospital

This page was initially set up to promote an event I was running in aid of Crumlin childrens hospital. Since the event is long since finished and we raised nearly €18k I now just use the page to share stories from the hospital, the progress of our little girl Sadhbh or help others to promote events they might be running in aid of the hospital. My Daughter Sadhbh was diagnosed on Christmas day 2010 with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome at 5 days old! She has had 2 open heart surgeries before 9 months and will have a third next year. We have seen and experienced 1st hand the outdated conditions in the peadiactric cardiac unit and cant wait to see the new unit built this year.. Considering the 'supposed' wealth this country has seen it is mind bending to see the conditions that tiny heart babies and families have been dealing with now for many years with little or no support from the rulers of the nation! The staff and parents and people of Crumlin hospital have decided we have to do it for our selves and thats what we're doing! Please help... www.fixcrumlin.ie
