Fermoy Jobs Club

O' Neill Crowley Quay, Fermoy ,
FERMOY JOBS CLUB Fermoy Jobs Club is as yet an idea we need you to make it a reality. A focus group providing networking and support for unemployed people in the locality. The best way to find a job is through networking. A Jobs Club could be a solution for many people as it not only enables you to expand your network of contacts but also serves as a support group. The empathy and encouragement provided by supportive peers can be particularly uplifting in these times of economic recession. What ties people together in a jobs club is the need for mutual support and encouragement as job hunting can be a lonely task. You will feel supported and you will probably be more successful than if you go it alone. You will have the opportunity to up skill and improve your competencies. The exchange of job leads, business cards, resumes that occurs in a jobs club can energize members and teach everyone valuable career strategies and techniques. This initiative is a joint venture between Public and Private enterprise: the Fermoy Education Centre will offer a base for meetings and access to career advice and skills development and. Co. Cork VEC will support the Club with Guest Speakers Guidance and It backup. The DSFA will also provide some financial assistance. Guest speakers, career counsellors, college professors, jobs consultants, local employment organisations and professionals in business will advice and guide members. It is envisaged that a data base and social network will evolve. The possibility of developing a website and providing a service to the local community could also grow from this particular innovative idea. We can no longer sit back and be complacent we must take action. Getting involved in this Jobs Club is your first step to employment. Active Citizenship and Volunteerism are essential; we need to develop our social capital.
