Slowfoodco is proud to present The Red Oven Wood-Fired Pizzeria where a passion for doing things correctly, with care and simplicity, is paramount. A respect for the best ingredients and time-honoured ancient methods result in a truly Artisan product. Having toured festivals and markets around the county and beyond, our Wood-Fired Pizza Trailer was affectionately christened “Ruby Red†by our fellow baker friends and 'Real Bread Campaign' co-founders 'The Fabulous Baker Brothers', Tom and Henry Herbert.
Using the Slowfoodco company ethos and artisanal bread-making ideology, we create each pizza the original Neapolitan way. After much experimentation with flour, flavour and fermentation, we have perfected our final product, and in our opinion it's the best pizza base you will taste. When in season our own tomatoes and Genovese basil, grown in a walled garden outside the Bakery, are slowly roasted in the Wood-fired Oven and blended with our exceptional Cetrone Extra Virgin Olive Oil to make the tomato sauce.
Pizzas are rolled to order, topped and then placed onto the hot stone floor. The natural sourdough base reacts instantly to the heat, creating a crisp bubbly bottom and deliciously chewy outer crust. The topping ingredients roast and toast in the intense heat with a slightly smoky flavour. Wood-Fired, Stone-Baked, thin crust Pizza in two minutes or less. Served up by a crafty crew of artists, surfers, horse riders, musicians and Shane the disco dancer, keen to please, and highly trained in all things Pizza!
