Killorglin Archive Society
The Killorglin Archive Society was set up with the aim of selecting, preserving and making accessible the documentary heritage of Killorglin parish.
We are actively seeking the involvement of all interested parties in order to fulfill this mission.Throughout 2012 the society have collected and digitized over 5,000 photos and documents of events and every day life in our area. To date 9,500 have been archived by Tracey Spencer and Mike Foley in the office at the Sean Scoil, Sunhill.
KAS will also interview local people whose first-hand accounts of special events and day-to-day life in early-mid 20th century Killorglin will serve as invaluable sources of information.
You can help by bringing your own photos (with accompanying information e.g. date, location, people/place pictured), maps and written documents to the office. These will be digitised and returned to the owners. We are also seeking to engage with people who live or have spent time in our parish in the past to sit down with us and share their memories about days gone by.
