Ballymun Whitehall Area Partnership established Book Exchange in February 2009. For the past three years the people of Ballymun / Whitehall and surrounding areas have attended and enjoyed this free service at the monthly event in the Ballymun Civic Centre.
The Partnership distributes a myriad of adult and children’s books free of charge with the concept of promoting reading in the community. Visitors to Book Exchange can take as many books as they desire and donate pre loved books either at the monthly Book Exchange or at the Partnership Office. Book Exchange attendees are mostly regular visitors who say they attend every month. However each month there are also new visitors who discover it as a result of having other business in the Civic Centre or because a friend has suggested to them that they attend.
